What Is a DTS?

YWAM offers many different programs and classes. I am enrolled in DTS, the prerequisite for all other classes offered through University of the Nations.

Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a 5-month intensive training course, which aims to equip and train students for a lifetime of Christ centered service.  The core theme of the school is; “To know God and make Him known.” During the school, students will learn more about about who God is, His character, His nature, and His ways.  Students will also learn more about their identity in Christ, Gods purpose for their lives and how to live out their faith in everyday life.
The DTS takes place within the context of a real missional community with daily worship and prayer times. Each week students will hear from a different guest lecturer who is an expert in that topic. Students will also be placed into small groups, which are lead by full time missionary staff. Upon completion of the 12 weeks of training, students are taken on an 8-week outreach typically to another country or region of the world where they can apply the principles and concepts they have learned during the training phase. The goal of these 5 months is to see real spiritual transformation take place in the life of every student.
